International Medical Coverage
Medicare does not provide coverage outside of the United States and U.S. territories. Some Medicare Supplement Plans offer $50,000 of lifetime coverage for foreign travel emergency care with a $250.00 deductible and 20% coinsurance. Perhaps most importantly, the Medicare Supplement Foreign Travel Emergency benefit does not include “evacuation” protection. As a Medicare beneficiary, you would be responsible for the full cost of an emergency flight back to the United States.
If you are a Medicare beneficiary with Medicare Supplement or a Medicare Advantage Plan in effect, the Globe Hopper Senior Plan could provide short-term medical insurance with up-to a $1,000,000 maximum benefit. You will also obtain $250,000 of coverage for Emergency Medical Evacuation, $50,000 for Emergency Reunion and many other benefits.
